Synthesis stand-in · provisional tuning
No field recordings of these instruments have been delivered, so the four layers below are synthesised — they are not recordings of Sabah instruments. Their intervals are provisional and deliberately non-tempered, not measured from the instruments. The one audio master in the archive was analysed and came back equal-tempered to within 0.6 cents, which means it is a sampled or keyboard-played rendering rather than a field take — so it cannot supply real tuning either. This exists to review the interaction, not to represent the sound of Sabah.

Four layers, each mapped to instruments from the archive. It arranges and transforms real material — it does not generate synthetic performances.

Export
Exports carry a credit manifest naming every source, community and licence — written into the WAV’s own metadata as well as a JSON sidecar, so attribution survives the file being moved.
